When Margaret Bahen Hospice opened the new 10 bed residential Hospice for York Region, I decided to volunteer my time. After experiencing my own personal loss, I appreciated the comfort and support I received. I decided to volunteer to give back. If I can bring a smile, a laugh or a sympathetic ear, I am happy to do so.
After observing the "battle" that my mother had endured, it would have been nice if the "Hospice Experience" was available. The Hospice has 24/7 nursing care and all of the comforts of home which help families and friends to focus on sharing memories and living every moment.
I didn't know that Margaret Bahen Hospice needs to fundraise in order to provide all the important services and programs they offer. It is only the nursing care that is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and everything else comes from donations. That's why I'm Hiking for Hospice and I hope you will join me.
I ask you to please consider making a donation to what I feel is a worthy cause.
Thank you for your time!
